Stump grinding is the act of removing a tree stump by grinding the tree stump into wood chips. Our professional stump grinders have a rotating cutting disk with specially designed teeth that grind stumps and underground roots into small chips. We can quickly, economically and safely grind out tree stumps of any size (from stumps as small as 2", to very large stumps that have a large mound and roots spread out through the yard) without threat to your existing structures and landscaping.
There are a few main reasons why you should have all stumps removed:
They attract unwanted insects.
They are an accident-waiting-to-happen.
They can be very unsightly.
Typically we grind stumps out 8" below the grade (the grade = the yard's surface level), however, we can grind down over 2' deep if needed. We generally use the following equipment when grinding stumps (depending on the layout of the yard and access to the stump):
Small, Portable Stump Grinder This unit fits through a 36" (3') opening/gate and is good for getting into smaller areas. It is ideal for backyards with fences.
Large Stump Grinder This grinder attaches to a pick up truck for areas where the stump is easily accessible.
We can provide clean up services to remove the debris after grinding out your stump, but there is an additional cost for this. If you'd like the clean up option (below) added to your stump removal service, please let us know when you contact us for an estimate.
